How Do You Feel?
2023

As believe that being an active supporter from a bystander could lead to a positive change in stopping children and teenage bullying, especially in schools based on my personal experiences, my campaign focuses on the issue of young bystanders who witnessed the action of bullying in elementary and high schools, since it has been revealed some of them failed to act mature enough to recognize the seriousness of these incidents.

Before forming the campaign, my research was based on how young adults reacted while witnessing bullying as bystanders in their past, as I found out most respondents able to demonstrate empathy and felt sorry for the victim but felt a sense of guilt for either struggling or not helping the victim. While I observed that watching another person being bullied is never easy for bystanders, I feel like this may hugely affect bystanders’ mental health and their mindset development during their stage of growth.

Through designing characters and illustration, l would like to show how different negative emotions are caused among bystanders which could let others have a greater sense of their perspective in terms of how complicated their feelings were, and I would also like to convey the message of recruiting bystanders to form a larger group of active supporters could increase the possibility of stopping bullying.
